This season we explore our common humanity, beginning with how we face personal challenges, and ultimately, how the music can tame the furies – in short, the Myth of Orpheus.

Every work on this program was inspired by Orpheus in the Underworld – glorious music by Franz Liszt, George Walker, Christoph Willibald Gluck, Jacques Offenbach, and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Joining us on stage will be André De Shields, the 2019 Tony award winner as Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his acclaimed performance as Hermes in Hadestown!

Harmonic Flow with Kaia Yoga and Orchestra Lumos

In a dynamic partnership with one of Fairfield county's most prolific yoga studios, Kaia Yoga, we are offering three distinct yoga classes with live chamber ensembles. The music performed will serve as a focal piece to the yoga practice, being curated to fully enhance the various energetic states of a flow through tempo, dynamics, and character. The practice will have minimal instruction from the teacher to allow for immersion in the music. We will set up in the "Mandala" style with teachers and musicians in the center and practitioners in a circle of mats surrounding.

Embark on a musical voyage of gratitude, where melodies convey appreciation from the instrument to its creator and the composer. Experience a collection of songs that evoke our finest emotions, filling us with a sense of “gratitunes.”

The UNIQUE Series is a 30-minute interactive performance designed for neurodiverse individuals. The series offers a sensory-rich experience with music and visuals tailored to diverse preferences, creating an inclusive and engaging environment for all.

This event pairs eclectic pieces of chamber music with distinct beer offerings. While endlessly beautiful, classical music can be hard to talk about. In comparing how the tasting notes in beers reflect and pair with aesthetic qualities in music, listeners are empowered to share their opinions. Three beers will be paired with pieces and a fourth piece will have two beer pairing options. Your $39 General Admission ticket includes the beer pairings and two drink tickets to enjoy after the pairings as musicians play light background music.
