Elizabeth Mann demonstrates the flute, including excerpts from Claude Debussy’s “Syrinx“ and the bird from Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf”. “Syrinx” is a famous piece for solo flute about Pan, the Greek god who made pan pipes out of reeds calling to his love Syrinx, who happens to be hiding in the reeds.
